Read about federal tax brackets

April 15 following the tax year is the due date for individual returns for Federal and many state and local returns. The IRS updates the official tax rates to take into account inflation. So this year you’ll see a listing of all the federal tax brackets first, followed by a breakdown of taxes due (without accounting for deductions and other adjustments). Preparing an accurate Schedule D to report trades in stocks, bonds and mutual funds can seem daunting, especially if you have a lot of trades. Most times, the change is too small that it is almost negligible; we do not even notice it. As of now, the rates will remain the same but again, the margins will be adjusted for inflation.
